Paranoia ("we", "our", or "the app") is a party game offered as a website at playparanoia.org and as an iOS app. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

We collect only what is needed to run the game and your account.

• Account information: If you create an account, we store your email address, a hashed password, your chosen display name, and an optional profile photo. Authentication is handled by Supabase.
• Game data: Room codes, player names, scores, and game history while a game is in progress. Most of this is held only in memory on the server and is discarded when the room ends.
• Profile photos: If you upload a profile photo, it is stored as part of your player record so other players in your room can see it.
• Technical data: Approximate location (city and country) derived from your IP address, device type, and basic usage statistics. We use this to monitor traffic and improve the game.

How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account and let you sign in.
• To run multiplayer games and show your name and photo to other players in the same room.
• To prevent abuse, troubleshoot bugs, and improve the game.
• To produce aggregate, anonymous traffic statistics.

What We Do Not Do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not share your information with advertisers.
• We do not show third-party ads inside the iOS app.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.

Sharing

The only third parties that touch your data are service providers we use to run the game, including Supabase (authentication, database) and our hosting provider. They are bound by their own privacy and security commitments.

Children

Paranoia is rated for ages 12 and up. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from inside the app. Open the user menu on the home screen and tap "Delete account". Deletion is immediate and permanent. Your profile, custom questions, and game history will be removed.

If you cannot access the app, you can also email us at the address below to request deletion. We will complete the request within 7 days.

User-Generated Content

The website allows signed-in users to add custom questions to a community pool. We filter submissions for prohibited content before they appear to other users. Players can flag any question they find offensive, and we review reports within 24 hours and remove anything that violates our content rules. The iOS version of the app does not include the community questions feature.

Security

We use industry standard practices to protect your data. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. All connections are encrypted with HTTPS.

Changes to This Policy

If we make significant changes to this policy we will update the date above and post a notice in the app.
